You can only imagine Shytoshi Kusama and the team’s shock when the SHB Army notched up over 160 million compute units in just 30 minutes!

In his timely blog post, Shytoshi Kusma emphasized that the technical difficulties were not inherent flaws of Shibarium. Instead, they were the result of the colossal influx of transactions and users that converged upon the network simultaneously. If anything, the influx of transactions proved that Shibariums demand and anticipation was the real deal.

Over 1,000 ETH, 600,000 BONE ‘Locked’ in Shibarium

Amidst the chaos and calamity of the Shibarium launch, another storm was brewing. As the dust began to settle from the initial rush and the network was halted, excited bridgers started to notice that they didn’t actually have access to their Shibarium funds. 

Due to the technical difficulties Shibarium experienced at launch, over 1,000 ETH and 600,000 BONE tokens were locked in the network’s bridge contract. In yet another timely announcement, Shytoshi Kusama assured the SHIB Army that all funds are safe, going so far as to say that the Shibarium team has ‘insured’ the total amount in case there are any issues after the network is restarted.

Is Shytoshi Kusama Elon Musk?

Crypto news outlets love a wild conspiracy theory. One of the more recent and ridiculous ideas that captured the imagination of the SHIB Army is the theory that Shytoshi Kusama is secretly billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk.

The evidence is, well, feeble at best. It’s based on coincidence that has probably been brought to light in the name of light-hearted humor than serious speculation. 

Some SHIB enthusiasts have drawn parallels between a tweet from Elon Musk about a new “Twitter CEO” and a message from Shytoshi Kusama about the upcoming launch of Shibarium. The timing of these posts and the subsequent interactions between the two Twitter accounts sparked speculation among the SHIB community.

The theory is fun but unbelievable. Elon Musk would have a tough time juggling his responsibilities at Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter while meeting the constant demands and attention that the Shiba Inu community requires.
