The exponential growth of Shiba Inu’s decentralized Shibarium Ecosystem throughout 2023 has been monumental. The community’s expectations of moving from Ether to a self-sufficient blockchain consensus were met in August, while the Layer-2 Shibarium amassed an impressive milestone of 250 million transactions on the public blockchain today.
2024 will bring even more changes for the thriving community behind the popular dog-embossed coin. To illustrate, Shiba Inu developers have been hammering away for SHIB: The Metaverse, a virtual reality project for the Shiba Inu community, popularly known as the SHIB Army.
Besides improving the graphics, the Alpha version of SHIB: The Metaverse aims to provide a coherent structure for SHIB holders to set up their virtual home in Shiba Inu’s virtual land. Giving priority to holders of Shiba Inu’s (SHIB) alternative token Doge Killer (LEASH) and Shiboshis NFT owners, SHIB: The Metaverse is “prepared for testing,” according to the developers.
However, members of the SHIB Army have been waiting for the on-chain version of Shiba Eternity. This digital card game has already garnered over 500,000 players on its mobile version. In one of the latest updates, SHIB Token’s marketing lead, Lucie S., provided a sneak peek into what Shiba Eternity will look like on-chain.
Shiba Eternity Brings These Key Advancements For Utility
Shiboshis NFT, the collection of pixelated profile pictures, has been launched along with Shiba Inu on Ethereum’s network. The 10,000 non-fungible token (NFT) collection served a sense of exclusivity and pedigree among community members. These Shiboshis NFTs will add an extra layer of purpose as in-game assets on Shibarium L2.
The Shiboshis NFT is set to give access to new features and hidden levels at the Dogjo. The NFTs are integrated via Shibarium Layer-2 and are used to personalize the player’s experience, as the game characters, add-ons, and privileges highly depend on the rarity and traits of the Shiboshis.
Apart from the benefits above, Lucie S. also noted that Shiba Eternity is a Play 2 Earn game, which is meant to adopt Treat (TREAT) as a key component for players in the card game. TREAT is a reward token that can be earned on the blockchain version of Shiba Eternity via the TREAT earning mechanism.

- TREAT, the fourth coin by SHIB Token, rewards players for various activities and in-game competitions on Shiba Eternity’s Play 2 Earn version.
