Shibarium Accused of Code Plagiarism, BONE Dips 17%

Trouble in Shiba Inu’s paradise reappears with plagiarism accusations on Shibarium, dividing the community even further.

Big Shiba Inu Dog is sitting on a grey sofa in Shibarium as BONE falls down the hole behind the sofa.
  • Shibarium code shamed on social media for allegedly copying another project.
  • Crypto Twitter feud escalates after new social channels have been created.
  • SHIB plunges 6.2% in the last 24 hours, Shibarium’s BONE dips 17%.

The developer team behind the popular memecoin Shiba Inu (SHIB) is in the hot seat on Crypto Twitter after allegations surfaced that the Shibarium Beta code was copied from another blockchain startup called Rinia.

Even though Shibarium Beta went live with the ‘puppynet’ testnet last week, only the recently revealed technical details raised some eyebrows among the developer community. According to one high-ranking member of the SHIB Army, Steve, there are multiple reasons to think that the community’s allegations are on point.

For instance, the Chain ID is the same as Rinia’s testnet genesis file. According to Steve, the same Chain ID with an existing blockchain would mix things up, as the mistake would send transactions to the first chain with the same ID.

SHIB Army Worried: “It’s Getting Out of Hand”

In response to the fiery allegations, Shytoshi Kusama posted a message on Discord, asking the unhappy community members to leave the channels. Indeed, Shiba Inu’s chief coder gradually moved his part of the community to new Discord and Telegram channels.

Further on, SHIB Dream, the owner of SHIB Army social websites, vocalized his concerns in a long Twitter thread. Calling for unification, SHIB Dream regretted that “All the people that are part of this Shib Family are getting hurt because of power, control, and greed.”

Following the boiling altercation between two camps of the SHIB Army, both tokens of the Shiba Inu Ecosystem significantly plunged. At press time, the #14 ranked Shiba Inu trades at $0.00001045, with a 6.2% decrease in the last 24 hours.
