Crypto exchange OKX announced Monday the launch of its pre-market futures, which gives traders access to expiry futures for upcoming tokens before a public sale, initial coin offering (ICO), or token generation event (TGE).
The new product is part of OKX’s initiative to assist in the price discovery process of early-stage tokens while allowing its customers to capitalize on potential price movements. The exchange said the pre-market futures for new cryptos would be delivered at a “specified price” on the delivery date.
Hamster Kombat (HMSTR) on OKX’s Pre-Market Futures
According to the official press release, the first addition to OKX’s pre-market futures will be the Telegram mini-app game Hamster Kombat’s HMSTR token. This allows users exposure to HMSTR without holding the underlying asset.

“Our unique approach to assisting in the price discovery process for early-stage tokens is backed by our robust risk engine and extensive experience. By opening up new avenues to participate in crypto, we aim to make trading more accessible, efficient and appealing,” OKX Global Chief Commercial Officer, Lennix Lai, said.
Created by anonymous founders, Hamster Kombat became an overnight “clicker” sensation by allowing users to “tap and earn” virtual coins in the quest for profits. The game attracted 142 million users in just 77 days, setting new records and driving interest in blockchain technology.
But despite the game’s popularity, Hamster Kombat has irked global regulators, with Russian authorities warning that it might be a “pyramid scheme” built on passive income deception. In Iran, the army chief labeled the game a “soft war” against the country.
OKX said adding HMSTR to the pre-market futures doesn’t guarantee the token’s listing for spot trading.
