  • Moonbirds NFT floor slightly went up by 1.5% amid the news.

Moonbirds NFT, the trademark pixelated owls, is a blue-chip collection that hoots on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain. Holders of the profile picture NFT collection are now in for a special treat on the most popular music streaming service. Indeed, Spotify recently declared that NFT-gated and tokenized Spotify playlists are coming into practice as a part of the music streaming giant’s Web3 dive.

The cross-sector alliance allows music and blockchain fans to participate in decision-making by curating the playlists. According to the token-gated playlist pilot version specs, currently only Android users can access the Moonbirds NFT playlist on the Spotify app.

How to Embrace the Sounds of Digital Renaissance

Firstly, to access the “Sound of a Digital Renaissance” playlist on Spotify, a user has to press the private link sent to the email address and connect their wallet once they’re on Spotify. Secondly, after the wallet connects, the Web3 plugin will be able to find your Moonbirds NFT and provide you with a one-time key to unlock the playlist.

Curated by SongBirds & Danny Lee, this playlist is now taking suggestions from the crypto community on Twitter. According to a Twitter poll by the SongBirds, more than half of the NFT holders would like to hear Electronic / LoFi House jams on the playlist.

Meanwhile, blockchain and music fans are split into camps about the new collaboration between Moonbirds NFT and Spotify. Indeed, many people on Crypto Twitter tend to think that this utility of Moonbirds won’t substantially increase the NFT collection’s value and is mainly used as a tool by Spotify to assess the capabilities of blockchain technology.

On the Flipside

  • While this feature by Spotify is still in testing mode, currently only holders from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Azerbaijan, and Australia can access the new feature.

Why This Matters

Spotify’s Web3 ventures play an important role in testing the benefits blockchain tech can bring to the music industry.
