  • Melania Trump launches a July 4th commemorative NFT collection.
  • Solana spiked by 16% amid the news, reaching a two-week high.
  • The collection spans 7 designs and is capped at 3,000 NFTs.

Following in the footsteps of her husband, the former First Lady Melania Trump launches a non-fungible token (NFT) collection to commemorate the upcoming Independence Day. This collection is stored on Solana (SOL), a popular Proof of Stake (PoS) blockchain.

Currently, all of these double-sided 3D digital cards include a picture of one of the chosen landmarks, while the back of the digital cards portrays a United States flag in gold or silver and features the title of the edition, which is derived from the United States Constitution.

Some of the iconic landmarks that can be seen in this NFT collection include Mount Rushmore, the Liberty Bell & the Statue of Liberty, all accompanied by a patriotic music soundtrack. The initial sale offers any NFT included in this collection for $50, whether it’s paid for from a crypto wallet or a debit card.

Fostering The Future Via Blockchain Tech

In her recent interview for FOX News, Melania Trump revealed that this NFT collection would also serve as an aid to the foster care system. According to Ms. Trump, $150,000 will go to the fund responsible for integrating foster children into society through education.

Fostering The Future initiative is mainly focused on building opportunities for children in the technology sector. The collection comes as a follow-up to Donald Trump’s Digital Trading Cards NFT collection, which has scooped up a whopping $26.3 million since December 2022.

On top of that, the news had a positive impact on Solana’s price. At press time, Solana (SOL) trades at $18.63, according to CoinGecko. Rising by 16% in the last 24 hours, $SOL is heading towards the upper support line of $20, a level the altcoin hasn’t seen since July 7th, 2023.

On The Flipside

  • Many traders on Twitter are calling Melania Trump’s new NFT collection a cash grab before the upcoming election.
  • Melania’s inaugural NFT collection, “Melania’s Vision,” dropped in December 2021 and grossed only $15,000 in trading volume.

Why This Matters

Celebrities releasing their own non-fungible token collections can significantly boost crypto adoption.
