The already complicated relationship between gaming and crypto just got even more convoluted. The online multiplayer gaming heavyweight Roblox has officially denied the news of XRP inclusion as a payment method for in-app purchases.
This misconception was initiated after BitPay, a popular blockchain payments processor, took to Twitter to announce the integration of XRP into Xsolla payments for several supported games, which included Roblox and Smite.
The message from BitPay was deleted several hours later, even though it directly claimed: “You can use your favorite cryptocurrency to buy, play, and enjoy gaming like never before.” In a response to another media outlet, BitPay’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Bill Zielke explained, “There was an error in the tweet.”
No XRP in Roblox: Company Debunks Social Media Claims
The inaccurate claims about XRP’s inclusion in one of the most popular online games have spread across social media through Monday, ignited by crypto influencers sharing the rumor on X. For example, Scott Melker, a popular crypto trader with 912,000 followers, shared a post titled “Roblox + Ripple? Major gaming company integrates XRP.”

After a quick test of the currently available payment methods on Roblox’s official website, DailyCoin discovered that American players can use credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, and several popular third-party payment processors, Venmo, PayPal, and Klarna.
The partnering third-party processor Xsolla also distanced itself from yesterday’s controversial tweet from BitPay. Thankfully, the false rumors have left XRP untouched. The high-profile altcoin carries on to trade in phased consolidation at $0.4899 at the time of publication, according to CoinGecko.
