  • MoonPay has expanded to Europe through its latest integration.
  • The integration will enable users in the EU and UK to buy crypto seamlessly.
  • MoonPay and PayPal launched a similar integration in the U.S. last month.

Financial tech company MoonPay announced on Wednesday that it is expanding its PayPal crypto purchasing integration to users in the United Kingdom (UK) and the European Union (EU).

The development comes after the two companies debuted a similar integration in the U.S. on May 2. The integration allowed PayPal users in the country to buy and sell over 110 cryptocurrencies. MoonPay said the integration was available to 100% of users in the U.S.

MoonPay CEO and Co-founder Ivan Soto-Wright lauded the development, noting that expanding the company’s collaboration with PayPal to new markets was an exciting milestone.

“The success of our PayPal partnership speaks volumes about the value we’re creating together,” the CEO stated. “This move will enable us to provide a frictionless experience and lower the barriers to entry to include new users around the world, bringing convenience and trust to our growing customer base”

Per the statement, PayPal is currently available to 1% of MoonPay customers in the UK and EU (excluding Croatia, Hungary, and Iceland) and will be rolled out “over the next few weeks.”

MoonPay also said that it has been “rapidly” expanding the PayPal integration to its several partners, and it is now available on Phantom, BitPay, SafePal, Uniswap, LOBSTR, Changelly, Zengo, and xPortal.
