  • The Terra Classic community has recently passed proposal #11653.
  • Professor Edward Kim withdrew his admin rights to the Commonwealth.
  • Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) has dropped below a multi-year support level.

Terra Luna’s L1 Joint Task Force team has regained admin rights to Commonwealth. The crucial discussion space for community members has voted to control L1JTF in a recent proposal. Edward Kim, the Associate Professor of Computer Science at Drexel University, also a highly reputable Terra Luna Classic community member, fulfilled the requirements by transferring his administrator rights to L1JTF’s head Vinh Nguyen.

However, the community voice-abiding move by Professor Kim didn’t bode well for Bilbo Baggins, who was voted out of the administration panel almost unanimously by the Terra community. Besides Mr. Baggins and Professor Kim, Rexx, another prominent blockchain community member, also had to revoke his admin rights.

While Kim peacefully transferred his admin rights, Bilbo took to Twitter to protest the move. As L1JTF leader Vinh Nguyen confirmed Kim’s admin role transfer, Bilbo furiously declared: “Do not try to use governance in an attempt to steal the one that I have made for the community.”

Fiery Disputes Escalate on Twitter

Abiding by the voting of proposal #11653, Bilbo Baggins should turn down his administration rights on the Commonwealth forum. However, the aforementioned member of the USTC Quant team refused to give away the admin rights.

Mr. Baggins argues that he created the discussion forum and compared it to giving away his Twitter account: “So if I get a governance prop passed to take over your Twitter account, you have to give it to me, right?”.

Other Terra Classic community members were unsatisfied with Baggins’ conduct and pointed out that the Commonwealth Forum was created to help the community. In response, Baggins uttered: “Go right ahead and create a new one. No one’s stopping anyone from doing that.”

To that, the community’s response was clear: another governance proposal will go up for voting to create a new forum independent of any developers and owned by the Terra Classic community.

On the Flipside

  • Despite the Layer-1 Joint Task Force taking control of the Commonwealth discussion forum, the inner conflicts in the Terra Classic community forced two veteran members of the L1JTF team to resign, citing safety reasons.

Why This Matters

Terra Classic community aims to restore unfairly gained control in the spirit of decentralization.
