  • Yuga Labs turns to the next chapter with the TwelveFold puzzle.
  • One Yuga’s solved NFT puzzle awards 0.12 BTC or around $3,000.
  • ApeCoin DAO’s memecoin $APE recently plunged to all-time lows.

The Web3 behemoth Yuga Labs followed up on their first-ever Bitcoin Ordinals NFT collection, released in March 2023. The 300-piece abstract generative NFT art collection was made to pay homage to Bitcoin’s unique mechanism, as it’s a 12 x 12 grid format generative art collection inscribed onto satoshis – the smallest identifiable parts of Bitcoin.

The idea to immortalize the leading digital asset’s historical cartography into a Satoshi has caught the attention of NFT enthusiasts and Bitcoin Maxis. Their success has brought Yuga Labs $16.5 million in sales, but the art pieces blending the relationship between time, mathematics, and variability enraged the community over its auction ethics.

How to Participate in the Crypto Puzzle

The symbolism behind this TwelveFold puzzle game had crypto enthusiasts guessing the first Moon Puzzle, worth 0.12 BTC. Equivalent to $3,078 at the time of publication, the initial prize has already been claimed. Altogether, there are 13 puzzles in Yuga’s TwelveFold puzzle game. The last, #13 Sun Puzzle, will include a free Yuga Twelvefold Ordinals NFT.

Users must get an Ordinals Bitcoin wallet to participate in the Bitcoin sweepstakes. Every crypto enthusiast can enter an answer to active puzzles and pay Bitcoin’s gas fees (up to $10) to get their response inscribed onto Satoshi on TwelveFold’s official website.

Fortunately, users are not required to hold a TwelveFold BTC NFT from the inaugural collection. The only requirement is to get the puzzle right and be faster than others – only one 0.12 BTC price is up for grabs per digital puzzle. According to the rules, the lower inscription number wins if two correct answers are recorded on the same block.

Bored Apes Turn Worried as Bears Take Control

Interestingly, the news hasn’t been favorable for other well-known collections owned by Yuga Labs. The blue-chip Bored Ape Yacht Club has slid further by 8.6% in the last 24 hours, now at 27.23 Ether, which converts to $44,316 at press time.

This marks a 62.2% yearly deficit for BAYC, but other Yuga’s NFT collections aren’t doing great either – Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) also dropped by 56% in yearly terms, now trading below $10,000 with a MAYC NFT floor price of 5.20 Ether, according to CoinGecko.

Meanwhile, ApeCoin DAO’s ApeCoin (APE) also plummeted to all-time lows despite heavy whale support and no direct affiliation with Yuga Labs anymore. The memecoin has a unique utility case in Otherside by Otherdeed, a metaverse game loved by the Bored Ape community.

APE might be looking for a new identity: ApeCoin DAO asked the Bored Ape community to pick a new slogan for the monkey-themed coin, as crypto traders are trying to make sense of the longest bear cycle in crypto history.

On the Flipside

  • Yuga Labs TwelveFold NFT abstract art collection was heavily criticized by Ordinals NFT founder and a large chunk of the crypto community for unethical auction rules.
  • Ordinals protocol founder went bananas on the Bored Apes creators after he found out that Yuga Labs took custody of all BTC involved in the bidding process, not just the winning bid.

Why This Matters

Yuga Labs is the leading company in the NFT space and one of the biggest contributors to bringing crypto and blockchain technology to the mainstream.
