The Move-2-Earn cryptocurrency project Sweatcoin recently launched the long-awaited blockchain game Sweat Hero. The game was in Closed Beta mode for a quarter of the year and was initially made available for only 5% of Sweat Wallets users. From July 5th, 2023, Sweat Hero is available for all active Sweat Wallet users in-app.

This stands in contrast to Meta’s metaverse project, which featured flying torsos in the enterprise’s virtual world. Citing leg engine issues, the IT heavyweight received an amusing offer from Sweatcoin’s CEO, Oleg Fomenko, the founder of the physical movement-backed cryptocurrency:

“Hey Meta, let’s partner - we got some much needed legs for your metaverse’s torsos!”.

How to Earn Crypto with Sweat Hero

The principle of the game is as simple as any online multiplayer duel. Sweatcoin users can access the Sweat Wallet and press the Sweat Hero tab to get started. Firstly, gamers get a free non-fungible token (NFT) leg, which is given by chance from the Genesis collection. The NFTs are stored on Near blockchain (NEAR) like the native cryptocurrency $SWEAT.

The claimed NFT will appear on the screen with energy levels and type of rarity. Beginners have 3/3 energy, which means they can play the game three times, matching other players online. However, the Sweat Hero stats, including the physical steps, are calculated bi-dimensionally.

According to the game rules, these colorful virtual legs are available only to users who walk every day. The gameplay includes precise tapping and features several powerups, while the battles are rewarded in Battle Coins, which can be swapped into Sweatcoin (SWEAT) at any time.

Ultimately, the game serves a different purpose than most other NFT-based games – it encourages real-life physical activity and doesn’t require in-app purchases. However, the success of this Web3 step-counting duel will depend on its native coin’s rebound efforts after several months of strongly bearish tendencies.

On the Flipside

  • Despite a healthy 23.7% bull run for $SWEAT, the pioneer walk-to-mint cryptocurrency still trades 93.5% below the all-time high of $0.091, reached on launch day.
  • Due to the gradual rollout of the Sweat Hero game, it could take up to 72 hours for users to access it on Sweat Wallet.

Why This Matters

Sweatcoin is the most popular health and well-being dApp, used by 130 million worldwide across Web2 and Web3.
