In January, it was reported that Reddit, a social network that markets itself as “the front page of the internet,” had begun testing a feature that would allow its users to set any NFT they own as their profile picture.
In early April, Reddit confirmed that it has integrated ethereum-based NFTs onto its platform. At launch, Reddit auctioned four NFTs on OpenSea for as much as $400,000 each.
Reddit Offers Limited NFT Options
The NFTs auctioned by Reddit, under the ‘CryptoSnoos’, collection, are the only digital artworks that can currently be used as avatars on the Reddit platform.

Owners of other NFTs will have to settle for using them in jpeg form for their profile pictures. However, customization of NFTs is not permitted, limiting the potential available to users.
Experts have suggested that the current limited options on the Reddit platform are simply due to the feature being in its early testing phase.
Many suggest that, in future, Reddit could allow users to use NFTs from other collections as their avatars on the platform once the integration is fully complete. There is also a future speculation that users will eventually be able to mint NFTs on Reddit.
