Reddit Might Soon Allow Users to Upload Verified NFTs as Profile Pictures

Reddit released its own NFT drop ‘CryptoSnoos’ last year and is currently testing its own NFTs for executing the feature.

Twitter recently added a feature that allows users to connect their crypto wallet to their Twitter account to update an authorized hexagonal profile picture. Reddit is following the trend by testing out the NFT profile picture option for its users.

Reddit has been into NFTs for a while now. The platform released its own NFT drop ‘CryptoSnoos’ last year and is currently testing its own NFTs for executing the feature. However, the NFT profile picture option wouldn’t be limited to Reddit’s collection.

“We’re always exploring ways to provide value for users and communities on Reddit. At the moment we’re testing the ability to use NFTs as profile pictures (avatars) and verify ownership. It’s a small, internal test and no decisions have been made about expanding or rolling out the capability,”

Reddit’s spokesperson Tim Rathschmidt told TechCrunch.

"It’s still unclear when the testing period for Reddit NFT profile pictures ends and when the feature will be implemented."
