  • Blum suffered a “database glitch.”
  • The glitch affected the project’s “tap to earn” game.
  • The development came two days after Blum launched its memepad.

The Blum team announced on Saturday that it was facing technical difficulties with counting user points and game passes inside their “tap to earn” app following a “database glitch.”

Gleb Kostarev, Vlad Smerkis, and Vlad Maslyakov founded Blum in 2023 as a hybrid exchange that combines centralized and decentralized crypto trading while offering seamless token access via gamification within a Telegram app. The platform made it to Binance’s MVB Season 7 cohort in March this year before launching to over 50,000 signups in its first 48 hours.

Blum’s Technical Glitch

According to a November 23 X post, the Blum team is working around the clock to resolve the technical issue, after which it will issue further updates.

“We’re currently experiencing some technical issues with counting points and game passes inside the app due to a database glitch. But worry not! All your points and game passes are safe and secure and will be restored shortly.” The post read.

The Blum Drop Game allows players to catch falling items within a time limit to earn points, which can be exchanged within the app for different rewards. Users must obtain “game passes” by checking in daily on the Blum app to access the gameplay. Other ways of earning Blum points include referring friends, completing in-app quests, and playing games on the platform.

Blum’s database glitch occurred barely two days after the project rolled out its memepad to an audience of 87 million users on November 21. A few days into launch, the platform saw 50,000 tokens deployed and a trade volume of over $32 million.

According to The Open Network, Blum has secured a $500,000 grant for its memepad, becoming the fourth participant of TON Memelandia’s grant program for meme coin launchpads
