In a message seemingly addressed to memecoin traders, controversial social media personality Andrew Tate confessed on Tuesday that he earned tens of millions of dollars in crypto during the last bull run.

Tate’s revelation comes when the crypto market is filled with speculation and optimism, fueled by the meteoric rise of memecoins like Dogwifhat and Slerf, which have turned some traders into overnight millionaires.

Andrew Tate’s $85M Profit and Take on Memecoins

On March 19, Andrew Tate took to Twitter (X) and stressed the importance of distinguishing between genuinely innovative blockchain projects and speculative memecoins. He then claimed that he made $85 million by investing in decentralized exchange PancakeSwap during the last bull run.

“There’s meme coins that’s great. But each bull run there are the genuinely technological useful or innovating blockchain coins. Last bull run was Defi land. Made 85M on pancake. Do you know what they are this bull run?” Tate wrote.

Like Tate’s previous comments on crypto, the latest tweet did not fly under the radar of critics who called out the flamboyant media personality over his lack of a clear stand on digital assets. Event speaker and crypto educator Randi Hipper asked Tate to specify whether crypto was a scam or not.

“You made $85 million but you called crypto a scam? Which one is it?” Randi wrote.

While Tate has yet to respond to any comments asking him to declare his stance on crypto, he stirred heated debates in February when he revealed plans to launch a digital coin backed by $100 million. Tate later deleted the tweet and said it was just a “joke.”
