The Wave0 Community Grants initiative by the Worldcoin Foundation has unveiled the winners of its first year. On Monday, February 12, the Foundation revealed the projects which got 800,000 WLD in total, currently worth $2 million

The grants have been awarded to an impressive roster of 28 projects, highlighting its global outreach. These projects span various focuses, from technical enhancements to practical applications in Worldcoin’s ecosystem.

Which Projects Won Worldcoin’s Grant Money? 

The Wave0 Grants have been awarded to 28 projects across five continents, highlighting Worldcoin’s commitment to global innovation. These projects tackle various challenges in the blockchain space, including:

  • Nethermind’s Gas Limit Research: Aiming to optimize gas limits and execution times on Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chains, this project addresses a critical challenge in blockchain scalability and efficiency.
  • Wonderland’s ReputationID: This project seeks to develop a Proof of Concept for improving on-chain governance mechanisms, introducing innovative anti-Sybil measures that enhance security and trust within blockchain networks.
  • Chain Partners’ Infrastructure Development: Focused on upgrading orb technology, this initiative looks toward the future of blockchain infrastructure, ensuring the Worldcoin ecosystem remains adaptable and scalable.

The grant winners span all five continents and come from countries including Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, and Uruguay.
