WAX-Based Game Blockchain Brawlers Goes Live: What Can Players Expect?

Everything players need to know about the Player-vs-Player (PvP) launch of the Wax Blockchain Based Game Blockchain Brawlers.

Wax-Based Game Blockchain Brawlers Went Live: What Players Can Expect
  • Tyranno Studios, the team behind the project, began development in November of 2021.
  • The game is designed by Richard Garfield, creator of Magic: The Gathering.

Players can now test out wrestlers and participate in Player-vs-Player (PvP) matches.

Each player can log in with their WAX-based cryptocurrency wallet and begin playing the game immediately.

How Players can Engage with Blockchain Brawlers

Blockchain Brawlers is a PvP game in which players can battle one another and test out their wrestler non-fungible tokens (NFTs). When integration occurs, they can bet on their win with the game’s native cryptocurrency, BRWL.

Betting represents the main way each player can earn the game’s token in the future. For the time being, players can buy NFTs and the BRWL token through a credit card directly.

However, as of the initial launch, there are three PvP modes in which players can engage, including:

  • Exhibition vs. Bots
  • Ranked
  • Join/Host

Blockchain Brawlers also features its own marketplace, where the WAX cryptocurrency facilitates payments.

In this marketplace, players can find “Swag Kits,” which aim to visually alter each wrestler’s look through wearables.

There’s a ranking system in the form of MMR (Matchmaking Rating), in which players win points through winning matches and can lose them if the opposite happens. Any wins made against bots no longer grant any MMR.

The team also announced that in Q1 of 2023, a second PvP game mode would come out, aimed at following the auto-chess game concept.

Blockchain Brawlers is a wrestling game based on the card concept typically seen in competing projects in the crypto space. Every wrestler comes in the form of an NFT, and players can own them alongside gaining ownership over cards that represent the move the wrestler can pull off throughout each fight.

These cards are drawn from the player’s deck. Throughout every round, a player can place bets with the cards they have on their hand then. Each wrestler has 25 HP (health points), and once they are gone, the player loses the match.

Finally, Tyranno Studios has added Magic: the Gathering creator Richard Garfield as one of its core team members, who brings a lot of experience and weight to the project.

On the Flipside

  • Each player will need access to a WAX wallet, such as the WAX Cloud Wallet. The game is not free-to-play (F2P), as each player will need to spend crypto to buy NFTs.

Why You Should Care

The game’s launch represents a huge leap for the development team and finally lets players experience what Tyranno Studios has been cooking up.

However, the Pay-to-Play element surrounding the title might discourage players from initially trying the game, as numerous WAX-blockchain-based games are Free-to-Play (F2P), and as such, Blockchain Brawlers is facing hefty competition.
