  • Trust Wallet was suspended from a key marketplace.
  • The Trust Wallet team was aware of a possible suspension.
  • The matter was resolved in less than an hour.

Trust Wallet is back on Google’s Play Store after a short-lived suspension from the marketplace on April 29.

Acquired by the world’s leading crypto exchange, Binance, in 2018, Trust Wallet is a non-custodial crypto wallet that allows users to hold diverse digital assets across over 70 blockchains. The app is available on Android, iOS, and desktop browsers and has a self-reported user base of “over 100 million people.”

Google Restores Trust Wallet on the Play Store

On April 29, Trust Wallet announced to its Android users that Google had “temporarily removed” the Android version of its app from the Play Store.

“Google notified us of this potential action, and we submitted an appeal weeks ago. However, while awaiting a response from Google to our appeal, Google removed our app anyway,” the Trust Wallet team wrote.

The announcement did not state the reason for the suspension but said the app could still be accessed by downloading the Android APK from Trust Wallet’s website while the team tried to rectify the issue.

The issue resolution didn’t take long, as Trust Wallet broke the good news almost an hour later.

“Ok, well that was sorted quickly..! The Android version of the app is back on the Google Play Store 💙. Let's continue #BUIDLing, checking charts & touching grass,” Trust Wallet said in the second update.

While the issue was resolved quickly, it seemed like the news of the suspension had already impacted the market. The Trust Wallet Token (TWT) plunged 5% on the development to trade at $1.01 as of press time, CoinMarketCap data shows.
