The untiring volunteer developers behind the community-owned Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) blockchain are set to roll out the v3.5.0 mainnet upgrade this month. In a lead-up to this major Layer-1 chain upgrade, a proposal to rejuvenate the Market Module has passed the approval threshold, aiming to restore a part of the downtrodden chain’s functionality.

Set to go live on August 15, 2025, this Terra Classic (LUNC) chain upgrade is compatible with Binance, which continues to burn 50% of accumulated LUNC trading pair fees every month. Ultimately, the reactivation of LUNC’s Market Module could assist in stabilizing the de-pegged Terra Classic USD’s market value, which could eventually lead to USTC’s $1 re-peg.

Bears Still Holding Their Grip On LUNC?

With stagnant trading volumes & lack of new decentralized applications (dApps), LUNC’s rebound efforts didn’t bear any fruit, as the altcoin is 12% down in yearly terms. Dropping out of the TOP 200 by crypto’s global market cap, LUNC’s price fell considerably from the yearly peak of $0.0001751, clinched on December 7, 2024. Apparently, bears have dominated since then.

According to the Bull Bear Power (BBP) meter, Luna Classic’s price (LUNC) saw a stronger bull push in mid July, 2025, but that was short-lived. Now, Terra Luna Classic is changing hands at $0.0000579, which is considerably lower than the red-label Bollinger Band envelope (BOLL) at $0.0000604.

If the August 15, 2025 LUNC L1 upgrade goes smoothly, the altcoin’s price could gain bull traction like it did back in February, 2025. A follow up to February’s v 3.4.0 mainnet release, this new upgrade could help LUNC retest February’s heights of $0.00008199, when the altcoin regained $450 million in market capitalization.

On The Flipside

  • The August 15, 2025 LUNC upgrade-linked SDK 50.13 proposal is yet to be verified by Orbit Labs, which are responsible for Luna Classic’s maintenance this quarter of a year.

Why This Matters

Developers took it upon themselves to restore parts of Terra Luna Classic’s original chain functionality, bringing the game-tested Cosmos chain up to date with the current DeFi trends.

People Also Ask:

What’s this new Terra Luna Classic upgrade?

In short, the v3.5.0 upgrade (August 15, 2025) improves efficiency, security, and dApp support, aligning with Cosmos standards.

Will the upgrade boost LUNC’s price?

It could increase utility & demand, but LUNC ($0.000058) is volatile. Forecasts suggest $0.00009-$0.00019 by 2025, not guaranteed.

What actions does the community take?

The community burns tokens (400B LUNC, 1.8B USTC planned) and develops projects like Terraport and Garuda DEX to grow the ecosystem.

Can LUNC reach $1 after the upgrade?

The 6.5T supply & 2022 collapse make $1 very unlikely at least in the short term. However, best-case scenarios suggest $0.0004-$0.02 by 2030.

What risks do LUNC investors face?

Low trading volume, market swings, and Do Kwon’s ongoing trial (delayed to 2026) could limit gains. Trust issues from 2022 persist.
