Sui reached more than 40 million transactions per second in a demonstration highlighted by crypto commentator Linda, but those transactions did not run directly through its mainnet.

In her latest roundup, Linda places the test alongside privacy integrations and network upgrades, with an important distinction for investors: headline speed figures do not necessarily measure comparable activity.

The demonstration, which she says took place at Sui Base Camp during Token2049 in early October, used “tunnels” to process activity off-chain before settling results on-chain. That makes it a different proposition from sustained mainnet throughput.

Linda connects the test to Sui chain push into AI-agent infrastructure. A Sui chain co-founder’s clip featured in the video describes plans for agent coordination, payments and auditable activity, alongside collaboration with Google.

The strategic ambition is clear; the demonstration alone does not establish production demand.

Midnight takes its privacy pitch beyond its own chain

Midnight’s Night Mode is targeting Ethereum, Solana and TRON, according to Linda, with privacy features intended to work without traditional bridges.

She describes potential private versions of Ethereum applications such as Uniswap and Aave, plus private swaps accessible through existing Solana wallets.

TRON is described as the latest addition, with a December launch planned. Linda characterizes the broader approach as a “privacy VPN for DeFi”—an integration strategy rather than an attempt to keep users inside a separate ecosystem.

She also reports that Midnight has passed one million mainnet transactions and that daily transactions increased nearly 400-fold in a month.

The YouTube video does not supply the starting daily transaction count, limiting what that growth multiple says about sustained adoption.

Solana and Cardano put faster settlement on the agenda

Linda reports that Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade is live on mainnet beta, citing a reduction in finality from roughly 12.8 seconds to 150 milliseconds. Those figures imply about an 85-fold improvement, rather than the approximately 40-fold increase stated in the narration.

For Cardano, she describes Leios as approaching rollout through the Dijkstra hard fork, with initial throughput expected at three to five times current levels and later improvements targeting 10–15 times. These remain forward-looking claims in the video, not demonstrated performance results.

Here, the useful distinction is between announced capacity, observed usage and activity that generates lasting demand. Faster settlement and cross-chain privacy can expand what these networks support, but off-chain demonstrations and estimated throughput should not be treated as equivalent to production adoption.
