Samsung Adds Tron Dapps to Its Galaxy Store

Tron becomes the first blockchain with its own dedicated section in Samsung Galaxy Store.

Samsung added support for Tron dApps on its Galaxy Store, which comes as standard on all Samsung mobile devices and is one of the largest app stores in the world.

South Korean technical giant Samsung now features Tron-based decentralized applications (dApps) on its Samsung Galaxy Store. Samsung users are already able to download them to their mobile devices.

Tron Foundation, the Chinese blockchain company behind TRON cryptocurrency, tweeted on Monday that it is the first blockchain project with its own dedicated section in Samsung Galaxy Store.

With the latest move, Tron brings more blockchain gaming options to Samsung users. Reportedly, its newly added dApps, available on Galaxy Store, all are blockchain games. According to the company, games like Blockchain Cutie, Meerkat Mining, Timeloop and Super Player Me will be available directly from Samsung smartphones or tablets.

It is known that decentralized blockchain gaming apps are already accessible for users in the United States, Canada and Europe. South Korean and Australian users, as well as one from the Philippines and Singapore, will be also able to download Tron-based dApps. However, availability varies depending on carrier, market and device, according to Tron Foundation.

The recent collaboration is not the first for Samsung and Tron. Both companies already partnered last year, when Samsung integrated the crypto wallet to its flagman Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone and added Tron as a supported cryptocurrency next to Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH).

Samsung seems to be focusing on crypto projects to some purpose. As DailyCoin previously reported, the decentralized application (dApp) industry is on the rise. The number of dapp transactions has increased over the last year, with the total transaction volume 82% bigger compared with 2019. Meanwhile, Tron blockchain remains one of the most popular platforms for gaming dApps.
