While featuring in a new documentary by journalist Graham Bensinger, YouTuber Logan Paul once again defended his failed CryptoZoo project, saying it “isn’t a scam.”
Paul’s rocky escapade with his defunct NFT-based game started last year when blockchain detective Coffeezilla created a multi-part video expose titled Investigating CryptoZoo. In the expose, Coffeezilla chronicles the project’s rise and ultimate fall, presenting evidence that Paul and his team might have conducted their “biggest scam.”
While Paul seemingly took accountability, pledging a $2.3 million buyback plan on January 4 to compensate for losses endured by NFT traders, the controversial internet star had another story to tell.
Paul’s Side of the Story on CryptoZoo
Titled 5 Months with Logan Paul, the 54-minute documentary tackles various allegations levied against the internet star. Bensinger stresses how the failed CryptoZoo project “led people to lose money.”

Without dismissing the fact that people lost money, Paul argued that the project was not a scam.
“Everything you just said has an element of truth to it. Here’s the problem. What you just described isn’t a scam. I took on a project that I was simply incapable of handling at the time,” Paul stated. “I’ve lost half a million dollars on this. Where is the scam?”
Paul stated that the CryptoZoo saga “is far from over because it was a one-sided story” and that he would “take care” of the people who made it look like a scam he engineered.

“He [Coffeezilla] told it how he wanted to tell it and told it a certain way that made me look like the captain of the ship.” Paul said.
Besides countering the scam allegations, Paul implied that he was a victim of CryptoZoo, too, claiming the project’s predicaments led him to “having suicidal thoughts for the first time” in his life.
