Hyundai Inks Avalanche Deal. Will AVAX Benefit From It?

Avalanche’s (AVAX) chain just got public appraisal from Hyundai, one of the most-established carmakers across the globe. A few months back, the South Korean car manufacturer attempted a $20,000 United States-to-Mexico USDT Proof Of Concept (PoC) transfer, which was settled in about seven minutes.

That’s a huge contrast from the regular three-to-four hours on existing bank rails. Hyundai Card, the payment subsidiary of the corporation, is now asking a crucial question: whether that payment operating model holds at group scale. If it does, Avalanche (AVAX) could receive a substantial liquidity boost.

“We have to prove the entire operation model works at scale. What happens if we can scale up? Then the economic model works”, said Heejung Nam, Head of Payments & BD, Hyundai Card. However, it’s important to draw the difference between genuine intercompany settlement and a simulated blockchain transaction.

AVAX Liquidity Boost’s Still Gradual: The Big Test Ahead

The project brought together Hyundai Card, Hyundai Motor, Tether, Avalanche, and blockchain payments infrastructure company Axiom. The transfer was a stablecoin pilot rather than a regular crypto transfer in Avalanche (AVAX) tokens. While this isn’t a consumer payments story, the Avalanche x Hyundai deal potentially alters corporate treasury.

Working capital & float gets to feel the benefits first, as much less cash is trapped in transit. Cost-structure also adds another layer: Hyundai’s financial bookkeeping can be far cheaper if volume is high enough to amortize custody, compliance, and conversion costs. That is exactly Nam’s point: the economic model only works after scale.

Then, there’s the 24/7 open hours, enabling real-time netting, which is more plausible than waiting for monthly or quarterly bank cycles. Settling balances in dollar-based stablecoins on Avalanche (AVAX) brings the ability to avoid banking cut-offs, typically meaning stranded cash and more effort to meet the demands of international business partners.
