Crypto exchange Bitfinex announced on Thursday its integration with Hidden Road, a multi-asset prime broker for institutions like hedge funds, retail brokerages, and proprietary trading desks.

The development comes after the Citadel-backed brokerage firm reportedly halted access to Bybit for its clients in late May, citing various concerns, including KYC verification policies and anti-money laundering regulations on the exchange.

In addition to deep liquidity, Hidden Road’s users might also benefit from other offerings under Bitfinex’s belt, including sophisticated tools and resources for derivatives trading, margin trading, high-volume spot trading, peer-to-peer financing, and comprehensive charting utilities, among others.

Bitfinex Head of Business Development, Bill Brindise, said he was “certain” that Hidden Road’s customers would enjoy exploring the products offered by the exchange to help institutional and professional investors gain exposure to digital assets.

Michael Higgins, Global Head of Business Development at Hidden Road, lauded the collaboration, noting that integrating with Bitfinex underscored the company’s efforts to enhance “access and choice.”

“Hidden Road is committed to providing our clients with modern technology and streamlined workflows for a seamless experience across products and asset classes on our platform, including digital assets,” Higgins stated.

Hidden Road’s partnership with Bitfinex comes as institutional investors continue showing interest in digital assets. According to Nickel Digital, up to 83% of institutional investors and wealth managers believe this year’s strong performance of Bitcoin and Ether will fuel the demand for other cryptos.
