  • BNB Chain has secured a strategic investment from Google Cloud.
  • The investment will support the chain’s MVB projects.
  • Google Cloud has inked two crypto deals in less than a week.

BNB Chain has secured a multimillion-dollar investment in cloud service credits to support the development of Most Valuable Builder (MVB) projects in its ecosystem.

Incepted in 2021the MVB program is a joint initiative run by BNB Chain, Binance Labs, and CMC Labs to accelerate the growth of select projects that contribute to the long-term growth of the broader blockchain ecosystem. Currently in its eighth season, the program has accelerated over 93 projects across DeFi, NFT, gaming, and IT infrastructure sectors.

BNB Chain’s Investment from Google Cloud

In a blog post on November 12, BNB Chain said it received $10 million in cloud service credits from Google Cloud to support up to 40 projects on its MVB program. This program includes a four-week accelerator program for builders, founders, and developers.

Each of the over 40 projects will be eligible to apply for support from the Google Cloud for Web3 Startups Program. Up to $350,000 in cloud credits over two years is slated for AI-first projects, and projects building non-AI-related products can apply for up to $200,000 in cloud credits over two years.

Google Cloud’s investment in BNB Chain’s accelerator program underscores the company’s growing interest in the crypto industry, which recently witnessed record-high surges following Donald Trump’s U.S. presidential election victory.

The development came barely a week after Google Cloud expanded its strategic partnership with Cronos Labs, the blockchain startup accelerator focused on growing the Cronos blockchain ecosystem.

The Cronos team said the collaboration would see Google Cloud become its ecosystem’s primary cloud service provider amid plans to onboard the company onto its pool of 32 validators on the open-source Cronos EVM protocol.
