Tezos’ Layer-2 network Etherlink is adding fresh momentum to its gaming push with the launch of two new blockchain-based titles, Pikes Arena and Cricket Champions.
The releases come amid growing activity on the platform, which now hosts more than 11 active games and reported 180,000 wallet interactions in the past month.
Pikes Arena Brings High-Stakes PvP Battles to Blockchain
Pikes Arena is a competitive blockchain game centered on strategic PvP (player-versus-player) combat, blending resource gathering, tactical positioning, and real-world rewards.

The game operates across three modes: a free “Warm-up” mode for practicing combat and skill development, a token-based “Pike” mode where players earn PIKE tokens and access airdrops, and a tez (XTZ)-based wagering mode for competitive PvP matches.
It incorporates Sequence’s account abstraction smart contract wallet and builder tools to make onboarding smoother for traditional gamers unfamiliar with blockchain mechanics.

Cricket Champions Targets Global Sports Fans
Another blockchain game, Cricket Champions, is the first strategy-based collectible card game dedicated to cricket ever launched on Etherink.
The title combines PvP card battles with a campaign mode featuring progressive challenges, alongside esports tournaments and competitive championships spanning college, city, and national levels in India.
Reportedly, players build their decks by collecting and upgrading cricket-themed cards, using them to devise strategies to outplay opponents.
Developers are looking to tap cricket’s vast global following to drive mainstream adoption, using Etherlink’s integration tools to ease the transition for new players.
Ecosystem Momentum Builds
The rollout comes amid a surge of gaming activity on Tezos’ Etherlink network. Veteran developer John Smedley’s Distinct Possibility Studios recently secured $30.5 million for Reaper Actual, a AAA shooter in development on the Layer-2 platform.
Mobile publishing giant TapNation, with more than a billion downloads to its name, has launched Athletic Rush on Tezos.
The mining title Uranium Miner drew 180,000 monthly active users in its debut season, while Sugarverse, which claims a Web2 audience of 60 million, is preparing to release a Web3 game following last year’s CNDY token launch.
Infrastructure for new projects is also expanding, with launchpads OpenPad and GameFi integrating into Tezos and Etherlink to provide funding and go-to-market support.
Why This Matters
For gamers, the latest additions bring more choice to the blockchain space, pairing competitive PvP combat and cricket-themed strategy with on-chain rewards. The use of familiar formats could make these titles easier for mainstream players to adopt while introducing them to Web3 features.
