Notorious crypto wallet-draining kit provider Angel Drainer has reportedly acquired rival phishing service Inferno Drainer.
Inferno Drainer helped scammers steal over $80 million in crypto from about 5,000 victims before claiming to have shut down in November 2023. The scam-as-a-service platform resurfaced later this year after what it termed โover six months of operating privately.โ The tool teased new staff, upgraded features, and new scamming techniques as its renewed offering.
Inferno Drainer Quits Business for the Second Time
According to an October 19 report by Web3 anti-scam firm Scam Sniffer, Inferno Drainer has reportedly sold its code and infrastructure to Angel Drainer, passing the torch to another major threat that shows no signs of retiring.

Inferno Drainer said it found the Angel team โcompetent enoughโ to maintain its crypto wallet-draining kitโs code base and features, such as support for over 200 protocols, auto claims, and bypasses โwithout ever scamming or backdooring.โ
โThis was a very hard decision for us, because we are really attached to our drainer but it is time for us to quite,โ the Inferno Drainer team reportedly wrote. All our customers will keep the same logins as well as stats, autosplit % etc. We have worked really hard with the Angel staff to put together the best of our previously respective drainers.โ
Per Scam Sniffer, the development came barely a day after Inferno Drainerโs fee address transferred 2,845 ETH ($7.5 million) in stolen funds to multiple new addresses. The tool also changed its fee address earlier on Saturday, indicating a likely business deal with the Angel team.
