“We’re also looking further ahead to the future and have been following everything happening in Web3 as a source of inspiration to continue innovating on YouTube.

We’re always focused on expanding the YouTube ecosystem to help creators capitalize on emerging technologies, including things like NFTs, while continuing to strengthen and enhance the experiences creators and fans have on YouTube,”

She also mentioned that all the events going on within Web 3.0 have been inspirational, especially since the technology (crypto, DAOs, and NFTs) provides new opportunities and ways for creators and their fans to connect.

Twitter now allows users to clearly display their NFTs, and Meta has revealed its plans to embed NFTs into its social media platforms Facebook and Instagram. Should YouTube also jump on the bandwagon, the NFT industry would surely explode with glee.

On the Flipside

  • YouTube did not reveal any specific details about any potential NFT integration coming to the platform.
  • Ryan Wyatt, the head of gaming at YouTube, has announced that he is leaving YouTube to join Polygon Studios ($MATIC) as its CEO.
