World of Women NFT Collective Gained Overnight Popularity

The transaction volume of WoW increased 1749% in 24 hours.

The World of Women (WoW) NFT collection consists of 10,000 unique and randomly generated female avatars on the Ethereum blockchain. According to the description, WoW is “a community celebrating representation, inclusivity, and equal opportunities for all.”

The transaction volume of the NFT project increased 1,749% in 24 hours. What is the reason behind it?

The project is supported by several celebrities, including Reese Witherspoon and Eva Longoria. However, this Thursday, the music industry veteran and tech investor Guy Oseary became a manager of WoW. Within a day of the announcement, the lowest price for a WoW NFT increased 2.34 times, from 3.2 ETH on the 12th of January to 7.5 ETH on the 13th of January.

“Even though NFTs have become a multi-billion dollar business in 2021 for the artist community, females were a mere five percent of that,”

Oseary said in an article for Variety.

He added:

“Yam and the World of Women team are leading the way to change that narrative. They built a community that is authentic, diverse, and one-of-a-kind. All of which directly translates through the magnificent artwork. Their core values of educating and empowering females in the art, technology, and NFT spaces are incredibly inspirational, and I’m looking forward to doing anything I can to further their message, influence, and reach.”
