Stellar’s Breakout Clings On This Level As Clarity Odds Slip

Cilinix Crypto’s latest Stellar update argues that XLM’s long-term story remains intact, but its near-term price action may stay trapped in a narrow range after optimism around the proposed Clarity Act weakened.

The YouTube show said the regulatory measure had been the main catalyst behind Stellar’s recent momentum, yet changing expectations around Senate Democrats reduced the chance of an imminent breakthrough.

That matters because XLM has repeatedly struggled to clear resistance near $0.195, despite what the analyst described as a reasonably strong move and rising trading volume the previous day.

Without a material policy or market catalyst, the video’s base case is a rejection from current levels rather than a sustained move higher.

Strong network figures, weak short-term structure

Cilinix pointed to several indicators supporting Stellar’s longer-term case. Total value locked on the network reportedly rose from roughly $160 million at the start of the year to about $250 million, even as broader markets faced pressure.

Stellar’s stablecoin market capitalization was also said to have expanded from around $200 million to nearly $1 billion. Decentralized-exchange volumes had softened but recently began to recover, according to the market researcher.

Those numbers, however, have not translated into a technical breakout. XLM has largely consolidated since July, with support around $0.17 and resistance clustered around $0.195 to $0.205. The analyst cited the previous quarter’s VWAP near $0.205, alongside a developing yearly VWAP and prior monthly value-area high around $0.195.

Funding rates leave XLM vulnerable to a range-bound move

Cilinix Crypto also flagged derivatives positioning as a concern. Leverage in XLM has increased, but the analyst said there were no clear signs of buying absorption while funding rates remained positive.

Historically, the host said, Stellar has reacted more favorably when funding rates turn negative. Positive funding alongside spot selling suggests the market may lack the conditions needed for a sharp upside move, even if short positions are building.

A move above $0.195 could open potential targets around $0.22, $0.225 and $0.238, the analyst said. But that scenario appears dependent on renewed fundamental momentum, particularly from the Clarity Act or another significant development.

In the absence of that, the host said they would be more interested in XLM after a pullback toward $0.17 or $0.165, where Stellar’s stronger longer-term fundamentals could support a rebound.
