The crypto market’s been waiting for this moment: key industry figures have finally met in the ultimate crypto summit hosted by the White House. During President Donald Trump’s address, some things got cleared up. The President doubled down on the USA as ‘crypto capital’, while key figures like Ripple’s CEO added fresh stats to the claim.
Political Warfare Is Done, Innovation Next
Commenting post-event, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse stated that “Crypto isn’t a fringe industry”, with 100 million Americans now using blockchain technology one way or the other. Out of those, approximately 67 million are long-term crypto currency holders, stated the survey conducted this year by the National Cryptocurrency Association.
Intriguingly, two thirds of the correspondents said they had expressed more interest in the crypto sphere in 2026 rather than last year, signaling broader mainstream visibility. With Donald Trump directly addressing and thanking Ripple’s CEO during the speech, that’s not hard to prove. Also, that sunsets the “political lawfare, debanking, and regulation by enforcement”.

That’s what CFTC Chair Selig said on the matter, while SEC Chair Paul Atkins highlighted the need for a clearer regulatory framework as soon as possible, referring to the delays in the CLARITY Act. While this is up for discussion in September, market watchers are not slimming their odds on a 2026 birth, as the Senate may get distracted with other bills in queue.
However, XRP’s in its own category. Ripple Labs CEO has attended the landmark crypto meeting, while Ripple’s President Monica Long has previously highlighted Ripple’s long-term quest in the legislative field. With 75 licenses to their name, the fintech company is actively pushing their own stablecoin, the RLUSD.
The Double-Edged Sword For XRP’s Price
Despite benefiting the ecosystem, RLUSD could take a part of XRP’s cake in terms of trading volume & general market capitalization. That happens when institutional players choose to settle transactions in the new stablecoin, avoiding XRP’s price fluctuations. Before the stablecoin launched, XRP’s On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) was the only option on the table.
On the other hand, it’s still the gold standard. Picking up 18.9% gains since the cycle low of $0.98 hit on August 14, 2026, XRP’s daily trading volume racked up $4 billion on Thursday. RLUSD’s $502,409,048 volume can hardly match that. Now, with crypto ownership extending well beyond high-income households, XRP’s on the path to $1.50 if momentum sustains.
