Ripple’s outspoken CEO Brad Garlinghouse just declared that the United States government’s goal of making the nation a global crypto capital is “within reach”. Garlinghouse requested the local policymakers to “finish the job” on key legislation, including the highly-covered CLARITY Act.
One More Road To Cross: Claiming “Crypto Capital” Status
Garlinghouse made the statement right after Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair Michael Selig discussed the landmark White House gathering in late August. That involved executives from crypto, TradFi & big tech enterprises.
The markets reacted fast, as the general public’s sentiment quickly flipped back to bullish. Brad Garlinghouse expressed gratitude standing in the room with Donald Trump, while the United States President gave Ripple CEO a shout-out on live TV.

What happened next is a promise from the White House to bolster talks on the approval of the CLARITY Act, as soon as the Senate’s Banking Committee gets back to work in mid-September.
According to the current schedule, the House may spend fourteen legislative sessions before heading off for another recess, pushing the act to year-end 2026. The procedural vote is on September 15, 2026, a date that has XRP holders marking their calendars for.
SEC & CFTC Write Legislation Alternatives As Senate Sleeps
Since that was put on hold before Summer recess, the SEC & CFTC took into their own hands to launch their own legal framework around crypto. The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) released the “Regulation Crypto Assets” last month.
More recently, the CFTC has asked a federal judge to dismiss CME’s lawsuit over approval of perpetual futures.
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is characterized by market specialists as pro-onshore, commodity-first, riding the market with a “we’ll write the rules if Congress doesn’t” approach.
On the other hand, hardly these fresh independent regulatory frameworks can match the same statutory division as the CLARITY Act. The market’s waiting on a super-tight calendar.
