  • Fuse Network plans to transition to an Ethereum Layer 2 using Polygon CDK.
  • Fuse developers have hailed the CDK’s customizability.
  • The EVM-compatible Layer 1 joins many projects building with the CDK.

Recently, the adoption of Polygon‘s Layer 2 technology stack, the Chain Development Kit (CDK), has soared, with the network welcoming more projects every other week. Following announcements from OKX and Flipkart, payment-focused EVM Layer 1 chain Fuse Network is the latest to reveal plans to join the network.

Fuse Network Reveals Plans to Join the Polygon Ecosystem

In a blog post on Monday, December 18, Fuse Network announced that it will be transitioning to a zero-knowledge-powered Ethereum Layer 2 using Polygon CDK.

Fuse developers tipped the CDK as the perfect fit for the network’s Layer 2 transition, citing the solution’s significant customizability and privacy options. Fuse Network co-founder Mark Sharon echoed these sentiments while commenting on the network’s planned migration.

“At Fuse, we’re pioneering the future of Web3 payments by building an ecosystem for businesses that prioritizes the needs of our users and partners. Our vision includes low transaction costs, instant clearing and finality, high throughput, and a decentralized validator set. In our quest to achieve these goals, we’ve conducted extensive research and found that using the Polygon CDK perfectly fits our ecosystem.”

Developers expect Fuse’s migration to an Ethereum Layer 2 using the CDK to take 12 months. They outlined steps, including deploying a mock prover to try out the stack.

Data from explorer.fuse.io shows that the network boasts roughly two million wallet addresses. As highlighted by Polygon Labs Growth Lead Sanket Shah, over 20 blockchains are now being built with Polygon CDK following Fuse Network’s announcement.

  • The migration will likely not happen for another 12 months.

Why This Matters

Adding Fuse Network to the Polygon ecosystem further emphasizes the appeal of the CDK and Polygon’s 2.0 roadmap.
