Graffiti Racer
  • Players officially got a release date for Graffiti Racer, a new play-to-earn (P2E) game that will launch on October 31, 2022.
  • Players can color their own characters and race them to score points through its introduction of “sheet” and “film” functions.
  • DEP is the native cryptocurrency received as a reward, and players can earn it by winning races, trading NFT sheets, or using the Scholarship system.

The free-to-play (F2P) game Graffiti Racer now has a release date set for October 31, 2022, based on an official announcement published by Digital Entertainment Asset Pte., where they go over all of the gameplay mechanics surrounding the game.

What Gamers Can Expect from Graffiti Racers

Graffiti Racer is a coloring and racing game that features blockchain technology and play-to-earn (P2E) elements to enhance the overall player experience.

The main way this game aims to stand out when compared to much of its competition is by supplying players with gameplay mechanics that allow them to color their own characters and race them to score points.

The official website is live, but cannot be accessed before the launch of the game.

In order to enter a race, each player needs to create a character by combining two main elements, a “sheet” and a “film,” which the player then colors over. Players earn Race Coins as a means of developing their characters down the line.

The game features two types of sheets players can draw on, including ones in the form of an NFT as well as non-NFT options.

NFT sheets are gained through purchasing premium packs, breeding, or trading at PlayMining NFT, while the non-NFT sheets are gained through free sheet packs with tickets that are distributed in-game.

Players can combine two sheets of the same rarity, and DEP is consumed to create a new sheet; this is the breeding process.

The Play-to-Earn (P2E) Mechanics in Graffiti Racer

If you’re wondering how DEP tokens are earned, there are four main ways through which this is possible.

  • Each player can essentially win races and get ranking rewards directly.
  • Players can trade NFT sheets that they have gained in the official PlayMining NFT marketplace.
  • Players can also trade the films they get by coloring them with DEP; these are tradable in-game.
  • There’s also a scholarship system, where a player that owns an NFT sheet can lend it to another user who wants to borrow it for a maximum of 30 days.

Race Coins are gained as a reward from each race, the race mission, or ranking, and can be used to level up characters.

Race Points, on the other hand, are gained whenever a character gets created, based on its rarity, and are spent to engage in races. At the point where race points reach zero, the film gets removed from the character, after which they return to the sheet.

On the Flipside

  • The game features a large learning curve associated with all of its elements. As it introduces a new coloring structure, players will need a bit of time to get comfortable with it as well as all of the other ways they can earn Race Coins.
  • There are many competing projects that involve creating and upgrading characters, the most notable example being Axie Infinity (AXS), so the game has a lot to prove if it wants to stand out.

Why You Should Care

The creation of this game is an indication of healthy growth and competition within the GameFi space and may result in better games for everyone.

Graffiti Racer stands out due to its unique theme and gameplay innovation, alongside character upgradability. If it succeeds, it will likely inspire many more developers to get creative with their game ideas.
