Tickets for ‘AxieCon’, the biggest Axie Infinity event of the year, can now be bought with crypto. In a recent announcement, AxieCon organizers notified enthusiasts that crypto payments are now being accepted.
“Thanks to many requests from the community, we are now accepting crypto payment through Ronin for AxieCon tickets! Processing can be done through our support platform,” the official statement read.
What Is AxieCon?
AxieCon is described as a “gathering of the greatest thinkers, builders, and battlers in the Axie ecosystem.” The event is targeted at Axie Infinity players, fans, blockchain enthusiasts, newbies, and more.
AxieCon will begin on September 7th and will run until September 10th. The event will take place in Barcelona, Spain. The program has a number of events lined up, covering topics such as game design, esports, collecting, and much more. Attendees will also have the chance to meet and interact with the creators of the crypto game. Of particular note for players are the Axie Infinity tournaments set to be held at the event.
AxieCon: What’s in It?
The much-hyped event is attracting Axie Infinity fans from across the globe, and Sky Mavis hopes to capitalize on the excitement by kicking off AxieCon with a series of tournaments, boasting a prize pool of $1 million.
Three tournaments are set to be held: ‘Axie Classic World Championship’, ‘Axie: Origin BYOD’, and ‘Axie: Origin Stadium Series’. The Axie Infinity devs have chosen Community Gaming as their official platform for the tournament, and the final battle of each will be played out against the Axie ‘Final Four’—a team of senior Sky Mavis’ employees.

The initial stages of each tournament will run from July 28th to August 21st, with the finals for the Axie Classic World Championship set to be held during AxieCon, currently scheduled for September 7th to 10th.
But the tournament will not be AxieCon’s only feature—far from it. It will also include:

- Developer and community panels;
- Discussions on governance;
- Party and lounge area for Mystic holders;
- Exclusive merch;
- The opportunity to meet Axie friends in real life;
- Surprise guests, and much more.
