Axie Infinity’s In-Game Exchange, Katana, Becomes the Second-Largest DEX

Katana meant no more sending transactions to external dApps in order to exchange AXS or SLP into stablecoins.

Axie Infinity created two revolutions in the crypto world this year. First of all, it popularized blockchain games. Of course, there are tons of good crypto games, but Axies did become synonymous with gaming NFTs.

The second revolution became the implementation of Katana, an in-game exchange, which went unnoticed by mass audiences. In fact, it was an important step for blockchain gaming, because the addition contributed greatly to players’ experience when playing the P2E game.

Katana meant no more sending transactions to external dApps in order to exchange AXS or SLP into stablecoins. Now, players can immediately swap earned currency into “real money” without leaving the game itself.
