Animoca Brands is one of the most active players in the crypto gaming space. They began the year with intent, acquiring new partnerships one by one. Yield Guild Games, as a subsidiary of Animoca, was especially active in obtaining assets from across different games. Furthermore, The Sandbox became one of the biggest metaverses, with many new licences.
But the blockchain gaming giant is jsut getting started as it seems like that was merely a warm-up. Animoca Brands recently purchased an entire gaming studio; Grease Monkey Games was established in 2013 boasting experience in the development of motorsport games and programming in Unreal Engine 5.
The move is evidently a strategical one considering that Animoca Brands also obtains three motorsport titles through the acquisition: REVV Motorsport, REVV Racing, and F1 Delta Time. Even though these Grease Monkey games weren’t the most popular motorsport simulators on mobile platforms, the company has ample potential to bring high-quality racing simulators to the crypto gaming world in tandem with the considerable experience of The Sandbox creators.
