The Plasma (XPL) setup has drawn attention from traders watching for a potential reversal, even as the network continues digesting a major token unlock from late September.
Plasma (XPL) operates as a stablecoin-focused layer-1 built for payments and transfers. Its token is used for fees, staking, validator rewards, and network security.

After the September 25 unlock of roughly 1.67 billion XPL for the team members, research cited by Milk Road showed that about 70 percent of those tokens remained unmoved after 10 days.
Roughly 297 million moved to exchanges or trading desks while about 184 million went to other wallets. Circulating supply rose to around 4.5 billion tokens, or 45 percent of the total, with further monthly unlocks scheduled through September 2028.
Price compresses inside a classic reversal pattern
The recent technical view by Crypto With Gopal highlights XPL forming a falling wedge while price consolidates near $0.072. Bulls need a clean break above the 0.080–0.085 zone to confirm a shift and open room toward higher resistance.
One outlined bullish target sits near $0.125. On the downside, a loss of the $0.070 support area could invite further pressure and extend the broader downtrend.
Unlock data contrasts with continued XPL price stall
The limited movement of unlocked tokens after the September cliff suggests holders have not rushed to sell in size so far.
That relative restraint has not prevented the token from grinding lower through October, with recent daily ranges staying compressed and the price sitting well below earlier levels.
Monthly unlocks continue on a set schedule, adding a steady stream of new supply that the market must absorb alongside any broader crypto weakness.
Why Plasma traders watch the $0.085 level for breakout
For now, attention centers on whether XPL can hold the $0.070 area and push through the upper boundary of the wedge.
A sustained move above $0.080–$0.085 would strengthen the case for a bounce toward the $0.125 region, while inability to defend nearby support would keep the path of least resistance pointed lower.
The combination of restrained post-unlock selling and a tightening technical pattern leaves the token at a clear inflection point, with the next decisive move likely determined by whether buyers can reclaim the immediate resistance zone.
