  • Users can exchange native in-game tokens, TOWN, to any crypto from OKEx.

Crypto gaming is progressing by leaps and bounds. A few weeks ago, Axie Infinity introduced a first-of-its-kind in-game exchange – Katana. This meant that Axie Infinity became the first crypto game where you could exchange your in-game currency to stablecoins.

Gala Games, with its headliner game Town Star, has taken a different direction. They’ve partnered with OKEx in order to bring virtual OKEx branches into the game itself. The exchange buildings in question are called “Barter Stations.”

Thanks to this development, it is now possible to swap your well earned TOWN coins without even leaving the game itself. This is literally the bridge that truly gives the sensation of earning real money, not just an in-game currency, as said currency can be converted into any kind of stablecoin from inside the game world.

  • Barter stations will be implemented in particular locations, which means a shift in the gameplay. While Axie Infinity’s Ronin wallet allows you to swap tokens immediately, Town Star requires you to visit the exchange first. This is amazing for “immersion,” however, it might be counterintuitive for traders who are used to exchanging currencies instantly.
