Bybit is rolling out a payment program in Sri Lanka, expanding the Asian merchant network to unprecedented levels. Soon to announce the 100 merchants included in this adoptional push, Bybit Pay shook hands with Ceylon Cash to launch this initiative via CeyPay, a popular solution across the South Asian nation.

Bybit Pay Shells Out 100 PoS Devices To Sri Lankan Merchants

This enables a seamless Plug ‘n’ Play crypto adoption experience in the country that’s highly attractive to both international & national tourism, as well as tech start-ups. With this new commitment, Bybit Pay is now setting up 50 Android POS devices across the eligible physical merchant stores & 50 digital ones, with applications currently open

According to Bybit’s Regional manager Nazar Tymoshchuk, the current needs of Sri Lankan people create perfect conditions for blockchain payment adoption. With affordable access and an additional layer of security for both merchants & consumers, both transacting parties are able to choose whether they want to pay in fiat or crypto every time.

Moreover, crypto payments are often seen as a hedge against weak national currencies, as seen in numerous cases in Africa & South America. For merchants, Bybit Pay erases the odds of payment disputes via the robust security system, also potentially expanding their customer base to people who’d otherwise be deterred by traditional methods.
