Rapper Tyga Launches OnlyFans Crypto-Competitor

Myystar aims to provide more freedom and a better cut of earnings to content creators.

  • American rapper Tyga is launching a new platform called ‘Myystar’ which will be a direct competitor to OnlyFans.
  • The platform will be built on the Ethereum network.
  • Myystar aims to provide more freedom and a better cut of earnings to content creators.

The move originated last week when OnlyFans announced it would be removing all adult content from its platform by October 1st. This prompted famous American rapper Tyga to delete his OnlyFans account and launch his own platform, Myystar, which will be based on the Ethereum network.

The Story Begins

There was a lot of speculation as to why OnlyFans decided to make the major shift to remove and prohibit adult content. Some guessed that the company was under pressure as Visa and MasterCard had made the payment process harder regarding the nature of its primary content. However, it was later clarified that the company is aiming to attract more investors, as many were reluctant to invest in a site with adult content, even thought sex workers were the ones who grew the site, and its popularity, into what it is today.

After the story broke, many across the world were left stunned.

Observations soon arose that situations such as this could be averted if decentralized platforms and payment services like cryptocurrencies were used instead.

Nevertheless the door opened for a famous rapper to jump in and use the situation to their advantage.

OnlyFans Fan Tyga

The American rapper’s strong advocacy for the OnlyFans platform was well known. Last year he created his own OnlyFans account and started a modeling agency, Too Raww, which aimed to help content creators to get started on the site.

Following the ban on sexually explicit content, the rap star promptly left the platform and took the initiative to create his own crypto based platform to support creators.

 On his Instagram, Tyga announced:

‘’Just deleted my Onlyfans, starting my own platform @myystar8 more futuristic, better quality & only 10% fee. Creators will also be able to make content of their choice! Apply now to be first to get an invite. Myystar.com’’

Future Plans

Tyga’s goal is to give hope to those creators who were making a lot of money on OnlyFans before the rug pull.

The rapper also stated that he understands OnlyFans was the platform on which the revenue of a great many many sex workers was made.

With this new platform launch Tyga is seeking to give creators the chance, not only to earn more, with Myystar’s subscription cut being only 10 percent, instead of the 20 percent taken by OnlyFans, but also to provide a platform that offers the possibility of making the content of their choice.

Most importantly, it is claimed that the site is going to be “more futuristic” and offer “better quality” viewing to audiences.

The publication also reported that users will be able to sell their own NFTs, together with features that are relevant to the music industry. This means that content creators can also mint their adult content and sell them off as NFTs.

On The Flipside

  • It looks like crypto will be the ultimate solution to all problems of the centralized world. Crypto can, and does, provide freedom, even if that is the freedom to deliver explicit adult content. What was once “Freedom of Speech,” now it is “Freedom of Porno.”

Why You Should Care?

Crypto is the only medium that is open to everyone, regardless of background. Whether in providing options for the underprivileged to regain some power, or providing asylum to those trying to escape from a centralized world. It only makes sense to try to deepen one’s knowledge in the field and utilize it to an advantage.
