Internet browser developer, Opera, announced Wednesday that it’s launching a brand-new browser solution that’s designed and optimized for all things blockchain including: cryptocurrency trading, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) purchases, blockchain news filters, a nifty privacy clipboard feature, and a built-in non-custodial digital wallet for storing cryptos or NFTs.
Opera’s announcement stated that the blockchain-boosted web interface is called the Crypto Browser Project. It’s currently available as a pilot program on Mac and Windows desktops, and Android for mobile users – the iOS version is still in development. The novel browser was purpose-built to be compatible with blockchain technology out of the gate.

For the beta launch, the Crypto Browser Project initially supports a handful of blockchains, namely: Ethereum, Nervos, Bitcoin, and Celo. The company states that it plans to expand its blockchain offerings as the project progresses.
One of the most interesting and unique features of this internet user interface, is its native crypto wallet that is already programmed into the browser, eliminating the need to download other digital wallet extensions.
“This provides additional security as both the browser and the wallet, which will be released as open source soon, have been developed by the same trusted teams in Sweden and Poland. Still want to use another wallet, such as Metamask? It will of course work in the PC browser – we have even implemented a new wallet selector tool to make this experience smooth,” the company further stated.
