McDonald’s to Celebrate Lunar New Year in the Metaverse

To start the Chinese New Year tradition with metaverse, McDonald’s collaborated with fashion brand ‘Opening Ceremony’.

To start the Chinese New Year tradition with innovative technology, McDonald’s collaborated with fashion brand Opening Ceremony’ and its co-founder Humberto Leon to create an exclusive clothing collection of zodiac animal signs and host an event on the metaverse. This year celebrates the Tiger and the qualities of charm, confidence, courage.

“McDonald’s Hall of Zodiacs: 2022 Lunar New Year with Humberto Leon” is an immersive virtual reality experience for fast-food and fashion fans. The digital event takes place from the 31st of January until the 15th of February and will receive visitors in McDonald’s gallery, featuring Leon’s work throughout the AltspaceVR and Spatial metaverses.

Fans will receive readings of their horoscope based on birth year and zodiac animal, as well as a future prediction for 2022. As the description of the event says:
