The Cardano Foundation has joined Switzerland’s Capital Markets and Technology Association, and the group has recognized Cardano’s CIP-0113 programmable token standard as equivalent to its own CMTAT framework for certifying tokenized shares.

The move advances regulated securities tokenization on the network at the same time ADA trades in a clear bearish structure and tests the $0.182 area.

Swiss Standards Body Welcomes Cardano

The Foundation announced membership in CMTA on October 29. CMTA is the Swiss industry association that develops practical standards for issuing and managing securities on distributed ledgers.

Following the mainnet launch of CIP-0113 earlier in the month, CMTA’s Expert Committee treated a reviewed Cardano implementation of the standard as technically equivalent to CMTAT for equity securities.

Issuers that meet the deployment conditions can therefore use it to tokenize shares that are eligible for CMTA’s certification process.

What CIP-0113 Actually Enables

CIP-0113 went live on Cardano’s (ADA) mainnet on October 7 without a hard fork. It lets issuers attach compliance rules.

KYC and AML checks, sanctions screening, freeze and seize powers, and transfer restrictions, directly to native Cardano tokens. The ledger enforces those rules on every transfer, mint, or burn.

The blokchain recognition is limited to tokenized shares (equity), does not extend to tokenized debt or Cardano’s base-layer infrastructure, and still requires each issuance to satisfy Swiss legal and technical checks.

Shortly after launch, Veridian, a digital-identity company spun out from the Foundation, tokenized its own shares as ledger-based securities under Switzerland’s DLT Act using the standard, becoming the first publicly identified issuer to do so.

Price Action Remains Firmly Bearish

While the institutional groundwork advances, ADA’s chart tells a different short-term story. On the 4-hour timeframe the token continues a downtrend of lower highs and lower lows. It has slipped below the $0.20 support zone and is testing the $0.182 area.

A reclaim of $0.20 is widely viewed as the first requirement for any shift in near-term sentiment, with resistance levels clustered around 0.2004–0.2188.

Until that reclaim occurs, bears remain in control and further downside remains possible if buyers fail to defend the current zone.

Infrastructure First, Price Second

The CMTA membership and CIP-0113 equivalence give Cardano a clearer route into regulated tokenized capital markets in Switzerland, where ledger-based securities already have a defined legal framework. MSB Intel says the opportunities are in the trillions.

No doubt, this is the kind of standard work that makes real-world assets (RWAs) practical rather than purely experimental.

At the same time, the token’s price continues to reflect broader market weakness, with ADA trading near $0.19 and still well below prior cycle levels. For now the institutional plumbing is moving forward even as the chart remains under pressure.
